Hands in the meadow

On the Wall line between Teltow Canal and Lichterfelde there are a double row of 1.400 cherry blossom trees presented and planted by the Japanese people to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. It is a glorious sight in May when the trees blossom. At the end of the avenue the vista opens up towards the south and the former Wall line leading eastwards, where the woods meets the fields, can be clearly seen. The pink grasses with lilac and yellow flowers bordered by the green cornfield and intensified by the stormy light were irresistible.
