View from Marienfelder Allee towards the Lichterfelde power plant

A suburban area of Berlin. From on top of the mounds on either side of the Allee one can see for miles. Again, the former Wall line is particularly clear. Not far from sector border in Marienfelde was the transit camp, a central reception point for 1.35 million (of altogether 4 million) fleeing the GDR between 1953 and 1990, later Russians and Poles of German origin. It is now an information centre.
